The 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser: Rugged off-roader now features even more standard equipment and new adventure packages for both manual and automatic models

(TORONTO) – Carrying the legendary Toyota “FJ” badge, the instantly-recognizable Toyota FJCruiser has been engineered from the boulder field and forest floor up, to create a driving experience that knows no boundaries. Now, for 2009, Canadians can take advantage of the most adventure-ready FJCruiser to date.

New for 2009, all FJCruisers now feature the handling confidence of Toyota’s Active Traction Control system, with a cut-off switch to enable drivers to choose when to take advantage of this performance-enhancing system. All 2009 FJCruisers are also fitted with upgraded, roll-sensing front and rear / side curtain airbags and front seats featuring Toyota’s Active Headrests with Whiplash Protection. Convenience features now include redesigned sun visors and vanity mirrors, and the addition of front seat map lamps.

Those wanting even more can order the FJCruiser with an Offroad package, which upgrades the suspension and tires, or the new Adventure package featuring the FJammer audio system and running boards. Both packages include additional instrumentation and cruise control, a roof rack, plus - new for 2009 - an auto-dimming rear-view mirror with integrated stand-alone back-up camera.

The 2009 Toyota FJCruiser is now available at dealerships across Canada. The Toyota FJCruiser with the six-speed manual transmission carries a manufacturer’s suggested retail price starting at $31,100, while models equipped with the five-speed automatic transmission start at a suggested $32,100.
