Toyota Canada offers 13 model and trim combinations of the 2021 Toyota RAV4 – featuring front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive hybrid powertrains

TORONTO, ONTARIO – October 15, 2020 – Already Canada’s best-selling crossover/SUV, the Toyota RAV4 family is ready to ignite your desire to explore. The built in Canada 2021 Toyota RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid come in a choice of models featuring unique combinations of style, features, and capabilities – all ready to help you discover your community and your country. From daily drives, to weekend getaways, to epic vacations, the RAV4 does it like nothing else.

“This year, the Toyota RAV4 offers something for everyone – from the premium experience of the RAV4 Limited or the value-packed RAV4 LE, and from the go-anywhere capability of the RAV4 Trail and TRD Off Road models to the sporty thrill of the RAV4 Hybrid XSE,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “Whatever model you choose, the RAV4 delivers driving fun, plus the comfort, style, versatility, safety, and efficiency that modern lives demand. And then we make each RAV4 better, with popular amenities and powerful, easy to use technologies that keep you connected with everything that matters, wherever your desire to explore takes you.”

Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), the 2021 Toyota RAV4 expresses an energetic design highlighted by a chiseled appearance and powerful stance. TNGA contributes more than just great looks: RAV4’s long wheelbase and wide track contribute to a stable, confident drive, while short overhangs and high ground clearance help RAV4 tackle almost any terrain. Standard fittings include power adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, and LED daytime running lights.

RAV4’s rugged yet sophisticated exterior transitions to a refined interior characterized by a spacious feel, a harmonious layout, and accommodating features. Materials, cabin design, and colour combinations further define each model, from sporty hybrids to go-anywhere offroaders. Fun and functional, the RAV4 is also amazingly versatile with 60/40 split folding rear seats that convert the five-adult cabin to a cargo hauler ready for any weekend getaway.

Under the hood, the RAV4 lineup provides a range of choices to suit every taste and budget. In all, Toyota Canada offers two front wheel drive and six all-wheel-drive RAV4 models powered by a conventional drive train, plus a further five all-wheel-drive RAV4 Hybrid models that deliver advanced power and remarkable efficiency.

Gas models are built around a powerful and efficient 203 peak horsepower 2.5-litre Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front wheel drive models achieve a combined city/highway fuel efficiency rating of 7.7L / 100km while all-wheel-drive models fare almost as well, at 8.0L / 100km.

Hybrid models feature the Toyota Hybrid Drive – the most popular and proven electrified power train on the planet. This system, custom-configured for the RAV4 Hybrid, is built around Atkinson cycle 2.5-litre Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine coupled to a continuously variable transmission. The result is 219 Net Horsepower and a combined city/highway fuel efficiency rating of just 6.0L / 100km.

All models feature an impressive bundle of powerful yet intuitive technologies, including touchscreen-equipped display audio systems with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a multi-information display. Additional features vary by trim level.

A long list of standard safety systems starts with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 – a bundle of active safety technologies that help extend the driver’s awareness and ability to avoid collisions or mitigate their effect. Other standard safety features include the Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert safety system, the Toyota Star Safety System, a back-up camera, and eight air bags.
