(EDMONTON, AB – April 17, 2013) The next generation Tundra received its Canadian reveal today at the 2013 Edmonton Motor Show-- in the heart of truck country.  Canadian truck owners know that it’s a proven, capable pickup, yet the new Tundra introduces new features, a new, more chiseled body style and even higher levels of in-cab refinement.

“We reached out to our North American customers, taking their feedback to heart,” noted Larry Hutchinson, Managing Director, Toyota Canada Inc. “The result is a new 2014 Tundra that responds to truck buyers from all walks of life with a hard-working, class-leading full-size pickup with a more chiseled exterior and a smart, advanced and refined interior.”

The next generation, 2014 Toyota Tundra is designed, engineered and assembled in North America.  Toyota’s North American-based Calty Design and Research chiseled and sharpened the exterior, created a more aggressive grille, a more rugged bed design, and a refined in cabin experience. Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America engineers boosted ride quality and straight-line stability to new performance levels, and equipped every model with a back-up camera, integrated Bluetooth® connectivity, and more. New available technologies include Toyota’s Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert systems.

Understanding that truck buyers use their vehicles for anything from heavy-duty work, to a mobile office and daily commuter to a family hauler, the Tundra builds upon its solid platform and adds more class-up features and options.  Existing large audio controls for gloved hands are maintained, but closer to reach.  NVH has been improved for great interior quiet.  And, in addition to the well-appointed Platinum model, a new 1794 Edition will be available, which features a distinctive saddle brown embossed leather interior with suede accent and soft touch features.

Tundra continues to offer a choice of five grades with multiple cab and bed configurations and 2 powerful yet fuel-efficient i-FORCE V8 engines.  Canadians will still experience best-in-class front brakes, the segment’s only standard knee airbags, the segment’s largest cabin (on CrewMax models), the segment’s tightest turning radius, competitive towing and hauling capability, and an impressive list of standard safety features and technologies.
The redesigned 2014 Tundra will surely be the first choice for independent, resourceful truck buyers when it goes on sale in Canada this Summer, with pricing and additional details to be revealed closer to launch.
