The Standout Subcompact: Meet The Stylish And Fun 2016 Toyota Yaris Hatchback

(TORONTO, ON – December 3, 2015) The Toyota Yaris Hatchback is the subcompact that’s bold and distinctive – with European styling and handling plus a long list of standard features that make it the small car that’s big on value.

“Canadian drivers love the easy to drive, easy to park, and easy to own nature of the subcompact segment – and Toyota does, too,” said Larry Hutchinson, Vice President of Toyota Canada Inc. “That’s why we created the Yaris Hatchback – a stylish car with spirited performance and features that redefine what a subcompact can be.”

The 2016 Toyota Yaris Hatchback is offered in six models: a three-door CE, a five door LE and the sporty five-door SE – each offered with a choice of five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission and each immediately identifiable by grade-specific styling cues.

Regardless of the model, Yaris Hatchback is always fun to drive. Hit the road and discover why – as European-tuned steering and suspension systems deliver control and comfort in perfect balance. The 106-horsepower 1.5L four-cylinder engine provides plenty of acceleration while delivering impressive fuel efficiency. The Yaris Hatchback’s aerodynamic body with rigid structure minimizes vibration and noise.

Curb appeal is front and centre, with a striking exterior style that conveys a strong, dynamic personality – while the interior provides room for up to five adults plus soft-touch surfaces, satin chrome trim and other appointments that go beyond what’s expected of a subcompact.

The Yaris Hatchback covers all the bases. With a full selection of safety systems including nine airbags, child seat anchors and the six active technologies of the Toyota Star Safety System that work together to help drivers avoid accidents.

Every 2016 Toyota Yaris Hatchback comes with an impressive list of standard features. These include a 6.1” Display Audio with USB Input and Bluetooth capability, 60/40 split fold-down rear seats, power door locks and windows, a multi-information display, and all season floor mats to name a few.

The three-door Yaris Hatchback CE (MSRP starting at $14,775) features a passenger side walk-in assist for easy access to the rear seats, 15” styled steel wheels, a 6.1” Display Audio system with four-speakers , power door locks, power windows, and a Multi Information Display.

The five-door Yaris Hatchback LE (MSRP starting at $16,195) also adds air conditioning, a tachometer, cruise control, keyless entry, and power-adjustable exterior mirrors.

The five-door Yaris Hatchback SE (MSRP starting at $17,945) builds on the LE trim level, adding front sport seats, sport fabric seat material, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, six-speakers, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, 16” aluminum alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, intermittent rear wiper, LED Daytime Running Lights and fog lamps. New for 2016, the SE is offered in a two-tone exterior colour – Crushed Ice with Black Sand Pearl.
