Toyota Announces Recall Of Certain Avalon, Camry, Highlander, Sienna, And 2015 Model Year Lexus RX Vehicles

TORONTO, ON., (September 18, 2014)Toyota Canada Inc. plans to conduct a voluntary safety recall of certain Avalon, Camry, Highlander, Sienna, and Model Year 2015 Lexus RX vehicles equipped with the 2GR-FE engine.

In the involved vehicles, the end cap on the right-hand fuel delivery pipe in the engine could have been insufficiently welded during manufacturing at the supplier.  In this condition, fuel could leak from the fuel delivery pipe and, in the presence of an ignition source, could increase the risk of a vehicle fire.

Toyota is not aware of any fires, crashes, injuries or fatalities caused by this condition.

Owners of the vehicles involved will receive a notification by mail. Toyota and Lexus dealerships will inspect the fuel delivery pipe and if it was produced at the involved supplier, replace it with a new one.

Information is available to customers by calling the Toyota Customer Interaction Centre at 1-888-TOYOTA-8 (1-888-869-6828) or Lexus Canada at 1-800-26-LEXUS (1-800-265-3987).
