Toyota Canada Inc. Reports January Sales Results


  • January sales record for TCI and TCI hybrid sales
  • Thirteenth straight monthly record for TCI truck sales and sixteenth straight for Lexus

 

TORONTO, ON., February 2, 2016 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) sold 12,045 Toyota, Scion and Lexus vehicles in January, up 4.5% compared to 2015. That is a new January record.

 

For the sixteenth straight month, the Lexus division established a new monthly sales record, with 1,274 luxury cars and SUVs sold, up 0.1% compared to 2015. The Toyota and Scion division reported sales of 10,771 units, a January record, up 5.1% compared to 2015.

 

It was a record month for TCI hybrid sales, with 1,047 sold, up 30.7% compared to 2015.

 

In addition, for the thirteenth consecutive month, a record was set for TCI truck sales, with 7,717 sold, up 18.5% compared to last year. Among the highlights for specific truck models, January records were set for:

 

  • Tacoma 4X4, with 904 sold, the third straight monthly record, and up 96.5% compared to 2015;
  • Tundra, with 782 sold, up 45.1% compared to 2015;
  • Highlander with 806 sold, up 27.9% compared to 2015; and,
  • Sienna with 982, up 24.8% compared to 2015.
