Toyota Canada Inc. reports September 2011 sales


Car sales up, Best September ever for Toyota Venza
 
Sales pace increasing with RAV4 production resuming to 100% and lower new model pricing while offering significantly more equipment
 
TORONTO, ON – October 3, 2011 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) today reported sales of 13,808 Toyota, Lexus and Scion cars, trucks and SUVs in September, 2011 – down 5.2% from the same month the previous year. This month's sales included a 4.3% boost to passenger cars across all three brands and a best ever September for the Toyota Venza.
 
“We're clearing out existing models and preparing to make room at showrooms for the new 2012 Camry, Prius v, Yaris Hatch and Tacoma," said Tony Wearing, Managing Director, Toyota Canada Inc. “These all-new and next generation vehicles are the best in our history and offer Canadians significantly more value at lower starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Pricing (MSRPs).”
 
All models of the following next-generation 2012 models will also carry an MSRP starting below their equivalent 2011:
-Toyota Camry LE four-cylinder starts at a suggested $23,700;
-Toyota Yaris Hatch 3-Door CE starts at a suggested $13,990;
-Toyota Tacoma, V6 4x4 Access Cab starts at a suggested $27,900; and
-Toyota Prius v will launch at a starting MSRP of $27,200, making it the most affordable intermediate-sized hybrid on the market.
