Toronto, ON – May 12, 2011 – Canadians can get a taste for the sustainable lifestyle with a visit toVancouver’s EPIC Sustainable Living Expo, sponsored for a fourth year byToyotaCanada. Taking place May 13-15 at Vancouver Convention Centre West, visitors can explore a variety of innovative ways to make eco-conscious lifestyle choices, including transportation options.

Toyota’s hybrid vehicles will be on display at EPIC, including examples from the Prius family - featuring the current generation Prius, the Prius Plug-in Hybrid and the all-new Prius v. Visitors can also discover a range of advanced luxury hybrids from Lexus, including the RX 450h, HS 250h and the all-new CT 200h, the world’s first luxury hybrid sportback. SeveralToyotaand Lexus hybrid models will also be available for test drives onsite at the Expo.

“British Columbiahas been a leader in adopting sustainable transportation, with one of the first hybrid taxi fleets in the world.  As gas prices approach record highs, we look forward to connecting with EPIC visitors to discuss the benefits of Toyota Canada’s sustainable mobility options,” said Stephen Beatty, Chief Environmental Officer and Managing Director at Toyota Canada Inc. “For example, driving a Prius hybrid instead of an average midsize vehicle can save drivers up to 1,160 litres of gas and avoid emitting approximately 2.6 tonnes of CO2 in the atmosphere every year. That's a 60% reduction in fuel and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and an almost 70% reduction in smog-forming emissions.”
