Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain Toyota vehicles

TORONTO, ON-April 8, 2020 – Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain 2020 Model Year Corolla Hatchback vehicles in Canada. Approximately 221 vehicles are involved in this recall.

A connector in the rear hatch of the subject vehicles may have been damaged during production. As a result, the backup lamps may become inoperative over time. If backup lamps do not illuminate when the vehicle is operated in reverse, there can be an increased risk of a crash.

For all involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will replace the rear hatch wire harness with a new one at no cost to customers.

Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by early June 2020.
