TORONTO, Ontario – November 17, 2021 –  Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain 2018 model year Camry vehicles in Canada. Approximately 7,302 vehicles are involved in this recall.

The involved vehicles have a system that provides power brake assist when the driver depresses the brake pedal.  Specific components in a part of this system can prematurely wear and could lead to a sudden loss of power braking assist. Non-power assisted braking will remain functional. However, a sudden loss of power braking assist while driving could increase the risk of a crash.

For all involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will inspect the vacuum pump assembly and repair or replace it, free of charge to customers. Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by mid-January 2022.

Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is current as of today’s filing date and is subject to change thereafter.
