Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain Toyota vehicles

TORONTO, Ontario – March 3rd, 2023 – Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain 2022 and 2023 model year Toyota Tundra vehicles in Canada. Approximately 13,556 vehicles are involved in this recall.

Some of the subject vehicles may be equipped with an optional Toyota genuine truck bed accessory tonneau cover that can detach from the vehicle while driving. A tonneau cover that detaches from a vehicle could increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Owners of the subject vehicles will be sent a notification requesting them to confirm if the optional Toyota genuine truck bed accessory tonneau cover is equipped on their vehicle. If their vehicle is equipped with the subject tonneau cover, they will be instructed to remove the cover until the remedy is available and implemented. Owners will be contacted again when the remedy is available.

Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by late March 2023.
