(TORONTO, Ontario) July 5, 2019 – Starting in August with select 2020 model year vehicles, Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) will introduce Connected Services by Toyota – a series of tools improving the in-vehicle multimedia experience for Canadian Toyota drivers.

Upcoming Toyota vehicle grades will be compatible with these services - in addition to Apple CarPlay™- and will continue to feature Safety Connect and Destination Assist.

The first vehicles with Connected Services by Toyota will be the 2020 model year Sequoia, Tundra, 4Runner, and Tacoma, which are set to arrive starting in August. More models are to follow over the remainder of 2019 and into 2020.

Toyota App

The Toyota App will be available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It will first be offered on select 2020 model year Toyota vehicles and certain models will also be compatible with the following features:

  • Remote Connect
Lock / unlock doors, start / stop the engine, check the status of windows / moonroof, check fuel level, find your vehicle, and monitor guest drivers.

  • Service Connect
Receive maintenance alerts, recall notifications, vehicle health reports and more.

In addition to Apple CarPlay™, Connected Services by Toyota will also offer compatibility with the following third-party connectivity solutions, starting with select 2020 model year vehicles:

Android Auto™ with Google Assistant™

Android Auto compatibility offers a simple and safe way to use an Android phone in Toyota vehicles. With Google Assistant, drivers can stay focused, connected and entertained by using voice commands while keeping their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

Amazon Alexa™

Amazon Alexa compatibility allows drivers to perform remote vehicle commands on vehicles equipped with Remote Connect by using an Amazon home device.
