TORONTO, ON., (March 27, 2014) – Toyota Canada Inc., (TCI) announced that it will conduct a voluntary safety recall of approximately 2,065 Model Year 2013 Highlander vehicles.
In the involved Toyota Highlander vehicles, the second row left hand seat assembly may not fully lock into the inboard seat track in the forward first and second adjusting positions. If a seat is not fully locked, it may not meet the requirement to withstand certain forces in any position to which the seat can be adjusted. Under some conditions, this could increase the risk of an injury to an occupant in the event of a crash.
Dealers will remedy the affected vehicles, at no cost to vehicle owners, by installing a washer that will assist in locking the seat track into the first and second adjusting positions.
Owners of vehicles subject to this recall will receive a notification by mail.
