Toyota Canada Releases July Sales Results


Record-setting electrified vehicle sales represented 43.2% of overall sales in July 2023

TORONTO, Ontario – August 1, 2023 – Record-setting electrified vehicles sales led the way for Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) in July, representing 43.2% of overall sales, or 8,582 units, up 107.1% from July 2022.

Electrified vehicles represented a record 59.5% of all Lexus units sold in July 2023, with NX Hybrid, and RX Hybrid setting July sales records.

Electrified vehicles also represented a record 38.8% of all Toyota units sold in July 2023, led by record July sales for RAV4 Hybrid, RAV4 Prime and Corolla Hybrid. The Corolla Cross Hybrid, on its first full month of sales, contributed 317 sales to this electrified July sales record.

1,751 BEV, PHEV and FCEV units were among the electrified Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in July.

Record July for Lexus

Lexus had a record month of July, selling 2,647 units, up 20.4% from July 2022.

Toyota also had a strong month of July, selling 17,224 units, up 5.1% from July 2022, helped by a strong and varied portfolio of models, including the Corolla Cross which had its best month since launch, selling 1,329 units.

Overall, TCI sold 19,871 vehicles in July 2023, up 6.9% from July 2022.

TMMC-built led the way

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) produced vehicles led the way in July. Sales of the best-selling passenger vehicle in Canada, the Toyota RAV4, were up 25.8%, led by record July sales of the RAV4 Hybrid, up 30.2%. The Lexus NX and Lexus RX also saw strong July sales, including records for their respective Hybrid versions.
