Toyota Canada Releases October Sales Results

Record October sales, up 33.0% year over year 

Record-setting electrified vehicle sales represented 39.8% of overall sales in October 2023 

Record October sales of the best-selling passenger vehicle in Canada, the Toyota RAV4


TORONTO, Ontario – November 1, 2023 – Record-setting electrified vehicles sales continue in October for Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI), representing 39.8% of overall sales. 

Electrified vehicles represented 57.6% of all Lexus Division units sold in October 2023, with record October sales for RX Hybrid (up 469.9%).

Electrified vehicles also represented 37.4% of all Toyota Division units sold in October 2023, with record October sales for RAV4 Hybrid (up 226.9%), RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid (up 191.4%), and Corolla Hybrid (up 278.5%). Toyota also saw significant demand for its electrified Sienna (up 20.4%) and Sequoia (up 253.3%) as well as for the Highlander Hybrid (up 402.7%).

A total of 1,405 Zero-Emission Vehicles (ZEV, comprising of EV, PHEV and FCEV) units were among the electrified Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in October. 

 

Best October ever
Overall, TCI sold a record 22,045 vehicles in October 2023, up 33.0% from October 2022.

Toyota division also saw record October sales with 19,434 units sold, up 37.5% from October 2022. This includes a monthly record for overall Toyota RAV4 sales of 7,922 units, up 61.4% year over year, led by record October sales of the RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime. Tundra and Corolla Cross also saw monthly record sales.

Lexus division sold 2,611 units, up 6.5 % from October 2022.  

 

Toyota vehicles assembled in Canada in high demand
October sales of the best-selling passenger vehicle in Canada, the Toyota RAV4, hit a monthly record with 7,922 units, up 61.4% year over year, led by record October sales of the RAV4 Hybrid. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada -made Lexus RX and Lexus NX also saw strong October sales, led by record sales of the RX Hybrid versions.
