HIGHLIGHTS
 
The 2012 Camry is a new era sedan built upon and reflective of 30 years of Toyota's automotive intelligence and experience. Built and designed in North America, with North Americans in mind, the Camry continues to be the car customers have come to trust and respect with the design and performance Canadians love. Toyota has extensively updated the Camry for 2012 – from new exterior and interior designs and larger wheels on many models, to additional safety, comfort and convenience features – to deliver even more value for one of Canada’s most popular mid-size sedans.
 
POWERTRAIN
 
  • The 2012 Toyota Camry is available with a choice of two engines, each mated to a six-speed Super-ECT automatic transmission to deliver power, fuel efficiency and cleaner emissions:
    • a 2.5L 4-cylinder delivers 179 peak horsepower and up to 171 lb-ft of torque, plus a combined city/highway fuel efficiency of 7.0 litres per 100 km (8.2L/100km city, 5.6L/100km highway).
    • a 3.5L V6 with aluminum alloy block generates 268 peak horsepower and up to 248 lb-ft of horsepower, plus a combined city/highway fuel efficiency of 8.2 litres per 100 km (9.7L/100km city, 6.4L/100km highway)
    • Both engines benefit from Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (Dual VVT-i), sequential multiport electronic fuel injection, Toyota’s Electronic Throttle Control System with intelligence (ETCS-i), an Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS) and more.
  • The suspension system – featuring Macpherson gas struts, coil springs, and stabilizer bars front and rear, plus independent dual-link geometry at the rear – is designed to maximize ride comfort and control on most models, while Camry SE’s sport tuning increases responsiveness and road feel.
