OpenRoad Toyota Breaks Ground On New Dealership in Richmond

New, state of the art facility to better serve Toyota customers in the Greater Vancouver Area

TORONTO, ONTARIO, December 14, 2017 – Construction begins this month on what will be the largest Toyota Dealership in Canada: a brand new, state of the art showroom and service facility for OpenRoad Toyota – Richmond.

“We’re proud of the service we have provided for almost 40 years – and our new facility will ensure we’re ready to continue to provide the best service experience to current and future customers in the Vancouver area,” said Christian Chia, Dealer Principal at OpenRoad Toyota. “Our new dealership will be five times the size of our current location, and incorporate many environmental systems as well as more space to showcase and service the full range of Toyota models, including the world’s most popular and proven lineup of efficient hybrid vehicles.”

OpenRoad Toyota – Richmond traces its history in the area back to 1978, with a modest showroom on Granville Avenue. In 1985, the dealership moved to its present location in the Richmond Auto Mall. The new dealership is being built across the street from the current location, so drivers will be able to watch the progress when they visit OpenRoad Toyota – Richmond to have their Toyota serviced.

At 205,000 square feet, the new facility will feature several amenities for Toyota customers – including two lounge areas, a children’s play area, plus a full-service café with TVs, a fireplace and Wi-Fi access. The new vehicle showroom space will encompass more than 15,000 square feet, making it the largest Toyota showroom in British Columbia, with space to display 36 vehicles on two levels, plus 10 indoor new vehicle delivery bays.

Toyota Dealerships have a reputation for excellent customer service, and OpenRoad Toyota – Richmond will continue to demonstrate why this is so, with a 12-bay drive-through reception service, 30 full mechanical service bays, and four express service bays for routine work such as oil changes. Two automatic carwashes and six detail bays can ensure that every Toyota leaving the dealership looks great, too – inside and out.

The new home of OpenRoad Toyota – Richmond features a striking architectural design that incorporates many leading edge environmental features. Highlights include a Green Roof and Water Collection System on the car wash, high efficiency heating and cooling systems, LED lighting, and more.

Today, Toyota Canada Inc. Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Cyril Dimitris, will attend a special ground-breaking ceremony at the new OpenRoad Toyota – Richmond site.
