(TORONTO) – Canadian drivers are looking for relief at the gas pumps – and Toyota’s many fuel efficient, low-emission vehicles deliver just that. Toyota’s renowned hybrid vehicles have been available in Canada since 2000, yet questions about eco-friendly automotive technology still exist. To dispel common myths and give more drivers first-hand experience, Toyota Canada Inc. and the Ontario Toyota Dealers Association are pleased to bring the Toyota Hybrid Tour to popular Ontario shopping centres this August.
The Toyota Hybrid Tour demystifies the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive system for curious Canadian drivers through interactive mall displays and hybrid test drives. “This event is a great way to offer first-hand experience to Canadian drivers looking to make informed, environmentally responsible choices,” explained Stephen Beatty, Managing Director for Toyota Canada Inc. “The tour gives us the opportunity to answer questions that consumers may have about hybrids, and allows them to get behind the wheel of Toyota’s most popular fuel-sipping models.”
Toyota’s hybrid lineup includes the world’s best-selling gasoline-electric vehicle, the Prius; the popular Camry Hybrid passenger car; and the Toyota Highlander Hybrid intermediate SUV. This year, the tour expands to include some of Toyota’s conventionally-powered - yet extremely fuel-friendly - models, such as the Toyota Yaris and Toyota Corolla.
“Earlier this summer, the Canadian-built Toyota Corolla out-performed a dozen competitors to win the CanadianDriver 50-Litre Challenge™ by traveling more than 1,000 km on a single tank of gas,” Mr. Beatty continued. “Canadians are more concerned than ever about rising fuel costs and climate change, and the Corolla can help address these issues. For Canadian drivers, it’s the right vehicle, at the right time, for the right price.”
