Cutting-edge hardware means studio-quality sound can now be heard in Toyota and Scion vehicles in Canada

Revolutionary Digital Power Station (DPS) technology from Bongiovi Acoustics now available exclusively to Toyota and Scion in Canada; “Sound Science” means music can be heard the way it was meant to be without the need for costly audio upgrade peripherals

(TORONTO) – For generations, people who wanted to hear premium-quality sound in their vehicles had to invest in more speakers, amplifiers and other hardware, which was expensive and took up a lot of valuable cargo space, or they had to buy a much more expensive car that came with a better audio system.

That problem has now been solved by world-renowned music recording engineer Tony Bongiovi and his team of music industry professionals, and their solution is available exclusively to Toyota and Scion in Canada.

Bongiovi and his colleagues – who have worked with many of the greatest names in music history from Madonna to B.B. King – have created a breakthrough technology called Digital Power Station (DPS). It’s the first 100-per-cent digital audio processor and amplifier certified for automotive use, bringing studio quality sound to vehicles without the need for costly audio upgrade peripherals.

DPS re-assembles audio in real time for optimal playback. It compensates for road noise and smoothes out volume differences among audio sources – whether CD, AM, FM, satellite radio or compressed files like MP3s from portable music devices. Bongiovi audio engineers have even customized the technology for each vehicle model to get the best audio playback possible based on the specific interior acoustics of each particular Toyota and Scion.

“We’re excited that this patented software technology that’s exclusive to Toyota and Scion is now available as an accessory on most of our vehicles in Canada,” said Warren Orton, Director at Toyota Canada Inc. “Drivers are going to notice a dramatic improvement in sound quality, with amazing audio clarity at any volume level. They’ll hear sounds that were previously inaudible, from the highs to the lows. It’ll feel as if they mastered their entire collection of MP3s and CDs in the recording studio. And all it takes is the installation of a simple box that’s totally hidden from view and works seamlessly with our factory stereo and speakers.”

One driver who can attest to the power of DPS is musician Edwin, former lead vocalist for the multi-platinum, Juno-award-winning group “I Mother Earth.” He also has three hit solo albums to his name and is currently lead vocalist in a Canadian super group.

“When I listen to music, I want to hear it just like it was recorded – big bass, clear vocals, and crisp guitars. That’s what Bongiovi DPS delivers. It reengineers music in real time so I can hear it the way it’s meant to be heard,” said Edwin, who recently recorded a song exclusive to Toyota. It’s called “Winter Sunshine” and can be heard at toyota.ca/dps where more information about DPS is also available, including audio demonstrations of the technology.
