Toyota Canada Inc. reports March sales: Best month ever for RAV4


  • Best March ever for TCI truck sales, up 22.9% versus March 2012 
TORONTO, ON., (April 2, 2013) – The all-new, fourth-generation Toyota RAV4 had its best-ever month with 3,635 sales.
 
Supported by the RAV4, it was a best-ever March for Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) truck sales. The total of 8,551 trucks sold was up 22.9% compared to 2012.
 
Overall, TCI sold 16,286 vehicles in March, down 6.1% versus 2012.
 
Toyota sales highlights for March 2013 (vs. 2012)
  • Toyota sales: 14,647
    • Toyota passenger car sales: 6,769
    • Avalon sales: 132 (up 193.3%)
  • Toyota truck sales: 7,878 (up 23.4%) :: new March record
  • RAV4 sales: 3,635 (up 95.7%) :: best-ever month
  • Tacoma 4X4 sales: 857 (up 11.6%)
  • Highlander sales: 537 (up 22.9%)

Lexus sales highlights for March 2013 (vs. 2012)
  • Lexus luxury car sales: 548  
    • ES sales: 226 (up 37.8%)
    • LS sales: 15 (up 66.7%)
  • Lexus luxury SUV sales: 673 (up 17%)
  • RX sales :: 559 (up 29.1%)

Scion sales highlights for March 2013 (vs. 2012)
  • Scion sales: 418 
“Scion continues to build in Canada with recently announced vehicles like the 2014 Scion tC 10 Series,” said Cyril Dimitris, Director, Scion Canada. “Within the next week, we’ll be building brand awareness and announcing a select series of innovative sponsorships.”
