TORONTO, ON., January 5, 2016 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) sold 209,050 Toyota, Scion and Lexus vehicles in 2015, up 4.1% compared to 2014. It was the second-best year of sales ever for TCI, led by the best year ever for sales of trucks, at 116,156, up 16.2% compared to 2014.
Toyota and Scion combined reported 2015 sales of 187,025 units, up 2% compared to 2014. Following 15 straight monthly sales records, Lexus established a new annual sales record in 2015, at 22,025 units, up 25.4% compared to 2014.
TCI’s hybrid sales were 13,629 units, up 0.6% compared to 2014. That included a record year for the Prius c, at 3,029 sold, up 9.1% compared to 2014. It was also a record year for the Canadian-made RAV4, with 42,246 sold, up 15.3% compared to last year; Tacoma 4X4 at 11,235, up 20.3%; Tundra 4X4 at 10,686, up 12.2%; and Highlander at 10,412, up 6.8%.
