TORONTO, ONTARIO, May 2, 2017 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI)’s Lexus luxury division recorded a best-ever month and a tenth consecutive monthly sales record, with 2,651 Lexus units sold in April, up 11.1% compared to 2016.
TCI saw overall sales of 21,967 vehicles in April, down 7.8% compared to last year, with the Toyota division (including Scion) selling 19,316 cars and trucks, down 9.9% compared to last year.
Best month ever for Lexus SUV sales, led by popular Lexus RX
Luxury SUV sales were crucial to the brand’s outstanding April sales performance, with 1,906 units sold, up 18.7% compared to last year.
Already a top seller in Canada, the Lexus RX continues to gain popularity with Canadians who are looking for an exceptional luxury SUV. The Canadian-made vehicle had its best month of sales ever in April with 966 units sold, up 11.2% compared to 2016.
Sales of the Lexus NX were up 25% in April, with 774 units sold for a third straight monthly record.
