TORONTO, Ontario, April 10, 2019 – Toyota Canada is conducting a safety recall involving certain 2019 Model Year Lexus ES vehicles in Canada. Approximately 13 vehicles are involved in this recall.
During vehicle assembly, it is possible that the driver knee airbag may have not been properly fastened to the instrument panel. This could have an effect on the knee airbag deployment that can increase the risk of injury during a crash.
For all involved vehicles, Lexus dealers will inspect the driver knee airbag assembly and replace it with a new one, if necessary, at no cost to customers. Known owners of all involved vehicles will be notified via first-class mail.
Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is subject to change over time. For the most up-to-date Safety Recall information on Toyota vehicles, customers should check their vehicle’s status by visiting lexus.ca/recall and entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). For any additional questions, customer support is also available by calling the Lexus Customer Service at 1-800-26-LEXUS (1-800-265-3987).
