Rugged And Reliable, The 2020 Toyota Tundra Is The Full-Size Pickup Truck That’s Always Up To The Task

Choice of powertrains, cab size, bed size, and a new mix of options packages and trim levels – including sport and offroad models – means there’s a Tundra for everyone

TORONTO, ON – August 21, 2019 – You work hard, and you play hard. You want – no, you need – a truck that can keep up. You need the Tundra – Toyota’s acclaimed full-size pickup combines the power, capability, dependability and safety you rely on, plus the comfort, style and technology that makes every trip an enjoyable adventure.

“For 2020, we’re introducing a new mix of Tundra 4x4 models – including TRD Sport Premium and TRD Offroad Premium grades,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “With a choice of 17 model and trim configurations, it’s easier than ever to find the perfect full-size pickup partner.”

Tundra’s no-so-secret formula starts under the hood, with a 32 valve 5.7 litre i-FORCE engine that generates an impressive 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a six-speed automatic with sequential shift mode and tow/haul capabilities, this powerhouse enables Tundra to tow anywhere from 8,800 pounds to 10,000 pounds, depending on model. All Tundra models are factory-fitted with a tow package – featuring heavy-duty tow hitch receiver, four and seven pin wiring harness, supplemental transmission cooler, and a transmission fluid temperature gauge – so you’re ready to start hauling right out of the Toyota Dealer.

Inspired by this truck’s no-compromise power, Toyota designers and engineers then tailored each Tundra configuration to ensure truck lovers can find their ideal Tundra. A 4x2 model maximizes towing capability while also offering the space of a six-person Double Cab and the unmatched utility of an 8.1-foot cargo bed. Tundra 4x4 models feature various combinations of five-person Doubled Cab or CrewMax cab, plus cargo beds in 5.5-foot, 6.5-foot and 8.1-foot lengths.

All models feature a display audio system compatible with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and enhanced for the 2020 model year with available Connected Services by Toyota -  – a bundle of tools that improve the connectivity experience for Toyota drivers.

All Tundra models also deliver full-size safety, starting with Toyota Safety Sense P. Standard on every Tundra, this bundle of active safety technologies – including the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beams, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control – enhances driver capabilities to mitigate collisions, stay in lane, and see at night. Other safety technologies standard on all Sequoia models include the Toyota Star Safety System, airbags, a back-up camera, and direct tire pressure monitoring system.
