TORONTO, ON – August 14, 2019 – You’re ahead of the curve in the 2020 Toyota Avalon – the full-size sedan that’s the perfect blend of smooth driving fun, comfort and efficiency, enhanced with powerful yet easy-to-use technologies and wrapped in sleek, modern style.
“The Toyota Avalon is our flagship sedan, and a true work of art,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “With a choice of luxurious Limited or sportier XSE models, every Avalon welcomes the driver and passengers to an expansive, comfortable cabin that promises joy on the road ahead – and then delivers with sophisticated and responsive performance that puts Avalon in a class by itself.”
Built on a revolutionary platform – The Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) – the 2020 Avalon is lower and wider than previous generations, with balance and aggressive poise that firmly plants it on the pavement.
Inside, the Avalon is generously appointed with authentic details such as genuine wood trim (on Limited model), leather-wrapped steering wheel and quilted door trim, all executed with attention to craftsmanship and detail.
Technology is intuitive, yet impressive. A Display Audio system with nine-inch screen is enhanced with the Connected Services by Toyota system with Bluetooth® and Apple CarPlay™ connectivity, integrated Sirius XM Satellite Radio, advanced voice recognition and steering wheel-mounted controls. Other technology features include dual zone automatic climate control, a seven-inch multi-information display, four USB charging ports, Smart Key System with Push Button Start, integrated garage door opener, a wireless charging tray for compatible personal electronics, and an anti-theft system.
The promise made at the curb is delivered on the road thanks to an advanced powertrain that makes Avalon fun to drive yet also comfortable and efficient. Built around a direct injection 301 peak horsepower 3.5 litre six-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift mode, drivers will thrill to Avalon’s dynamic performance while enjoying impressive fuel efficiency. The Avalon’s suspension systems raise the bar for ride comfort and handling stability, so everyone arrives rested and relaxed even after the longest journey, while Drive Mode Select lets the driver adjust vehicle systems to reflect their mood and road conditions.
As a Toyota, the Avalon also delivers impressive safety performance. Peace of mind starts with Toyota Safety Sense P. Standard on every Avalon, this bundle of active safety technologies – including the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control – enhances driver capabilities to mitigate collisions, stay in lane, and see at night.
