Toyota Canada Applauds Government for Providing Zero Emission Vehicle Rebate Clarity to Canadian Consumers

TORONTO, April 17, 2019 - Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) commends the Federal Government for providing more details regarding Transport Canada’s Incentive for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV).

Toyota Canada shares the Canadian Government’s belief in the importance of reducing GHG emissions from the transportation sector, and is making a broad array of new technologies designed to help Canadian consumers reduce or eliminate emissions.

Along with investments in clean charging and fueling infrastructure, measures to help reduce emissions from the current on-road fleet, and a continued focus on eliminating regulatory barriers to the introduction of new technologies, purchase incentives offered by government can accelerate the market for low or zero emission vehicles.

“We appreciate the Government’s efforts to quickly provide more details regarding the incentives announced in the recent Federal Budget.  This will help consumers who have been waiting to make a purchase,” said Stephen Beatty, Vice President, Corporate at TCI.  “We are also pleased to see that plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are covered by the program, helping ensure Canadians understand the important role that different technologies play in reducing carbon emissions.”
