TORONTO, ONTARIO – April 27, 2020 – Stunning design meets superb performance in the Toyota Corolla Hybrid – the first generation of the Corolla built for North America to feature Toyota’s industry leading, advanced and efficient, gasoline-electric hybrid drive. The Corolla Hybrid serves up a spirited ride even as it delivers outstanding fuel efficiency – while an available Premium Package adds an impressive bundle of luxury features.

New this year, Android Auto™ joins Apple CarPlay™ on the Corolla Hybrid’s touchscreen-equipped Display Audio system, allowing even more drivers to seamlessly integrate their personal electronics and the vehicle’s multimedia technology. Also new for 2021, all models are now standard equipped with additional safety technology, as the Toyota Blind Spot Monitor is enhanced with Toyota’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert system.

The 2021 Toyota Corolla Hybrid features the most popular and proven hybrid powertrain on the planet, adapted specifically for this vehicle. This system combines a 1.8L Atkinson cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine with two motor/generators and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. With powerful storage battery and sophisticated management system, this hybrid drive delivers instant torque at any speed and a highly-responsive 121 system horsepower. Driving fun is built in – but so is efficiency, as the Corolla Hybrid achieves a city/highway combined fuel efficiency rating of just 4.5L per 100 kilometers while minimizing emissions.

All 2021 Toyota Corolla Hybrid models feature dynamic, athletic styling – making this sporty sedan appear ready for action from every angle. Sleek J-shaped bi-beam LED headlamps add a sense of restrained aggression while the wheels are pushed to the corners to inspire driving confidence with a firm stance. Other exterior features of note include power adjustable and heated mirrors and LED daytime running lights.

The elevated sense of style continues inside, with a cabin designed to be supportive and comfortable. The instrument panel is cleverly shaped to widen the driver’s field of view while all gauges and controls are thoughtfully arranged for the driver’s convenience. Soft-touch controls and attention to fit and finish add extra expressions of style. Other interior features of note include power windows with auto up/down feature for all windows, satin plated door handles and accents, piano black instrument panel accents, and the convenience of a front console box with lid.

All Corolla Hybrid models are well-equipped with in-vehicle connectivity and other technologies. Toyota Connected Services includes features such as Scout GPS Link and App Suite Connect, while the display audio system includes voice recognition, SIRI Eyes-Free, Bluetooth Connectivity, a USB Audio Input, steering wheel-mounted controls, and six speakers.

A long list of standard safety systems includes Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 – a bundle of active safety technologies that help extend the driver’s awareness and ability to avoid collisions or mitigate their effect. TSS 2.0 includes Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Road Edge Detection, Automatic High Beams, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian and Bicycle Detection, Lane Tracing Assist, and Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety System, the Toyota Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, a back-up camera, and 10 air bags.

The 2021 Toyota Corolla Hybrid with Premium Package (starting MSRP: $26,990) enhances the Corolla Hybrid’s already terrific feature set with more comfort, more technology, more convenience, and more style. Upgrades in this model include heated rear seats, SofTex Leather seat cladding, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, ambient cabin lighting, and the Qi wireless charging system for personal electronics.
