TORONTO, ON - February 26, 2020 – Eight Toyota and Lexus vehicles have been named 2021 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK award winners, with six - the 2021 Toyota Camry, Highlander and Sienna, 2021 Lexus ES, IS and NX- receiving the IIHS’ highest award, the TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+).
To qualify for a 2021 TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, vehicles must receive‘good’ ratings in each ofthe Institute’s six crashworthiness evaluations. They must also have ‘good’ or ‘acceptable’ headlights, and available frontcrash prevention that earns ‘advanced’ or ‘superior’ ratings in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrianevaluations.
The “plus” is awarded to models that come exclusively with ‘good’ or ‘acceptable’ headlightsacross all trim levels and packages, making it easier forconsumers to find properly equipped vehicles.
