TORONTO, Ontario – September 8th, 2022 – Elevate your experience in the all-new, 2023 Toyota Sequoia – a full-size blend of premium comfort, impressive technology, and breathtaking performance worthy of Toyota’s go-anywhere, do-anything truck heritage.

“The new Sequoia is more than a next-generation full-size SUV: With its all-new hybrid powertrain, it’s a reinvention of what an SUV can be,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “To go with this all-new powertrain, we’ve enhanced the Sequoia’s platform and handling – then modernized its body styling, interior comfort and finish, technology, and safety. The Sequoia is a modern new flagship SUV, in every sense.”

The 2023 Sequoia is the third generation of Toyota’s full-size SUV, and its complete redesign makes it worthy of the “all-new” description. Authentic SUVs start with power and performance, and it’s under the hood that the new Sequoia reveals its true nature. Adapted from the all-new Toyota Tundra full-size pick-up truck, every 2023 Sequoia is built around a powerful and efficient twin-turbo V6 hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain – capable of generating up to 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. This self-charging gasoline-electric hybrid system features a unique motor-generator within the bell housing between the engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. This configuration delivers both impressive performance and amazing efficiency, and has been engineered and manufactured with heavy-duty performance in mind. On-demand 4WD contributes to efficiency on clear pavement, while offering go-anywhere performance when conditions under wheel demand it. For all of its power and capability, every Sequoia also achieves a fuel efficiency rating of 11.7 L / 100 km (city/highway combined).

Full-size SUVs must be accomplished multitaskers – and the Sequoia takes every task in stride. Its fully-boxed frame is a modern take on the authentic SUV’s classic body-on-frame configuration – one designed to provide the excellent handling and impressive capability that drivers in this segment demand, as well as a level of comfort that drivers will love.

Toyota engineers equipped this new Sequoia with an independent front suspension and new rack-mounted electronic power steering system, plus a modern multi-link rear suspension. Other standard features include a Drive Mode Select system and tow package with heavy-duty hitch, enabling every Sequoia to haul at least 4,080 kgs (9,000 lbs) with ease.

For 2023, the Sequoia is offered in five grades – each featuring distinctive exterior and interior styling cues. All express Sequoia’s sophisticated yet tough character. From curbside, designers have given Sequoia a distinctive face and profile that convey its capability and ability to support any active lifestyle. All models feature LED headlamps, fog lamps, and running lamps, power adjustable, power folding, and heated exterior mirrors, and windshield wiper deicers.

Inside, designers created an expansive, welcoming space that easily adjusts to a variety of people-carrying and cargo-hauling missions. All models feature power adjustable and heated front row seats, three-zone independent climate control, a heated steering wheel, full LCD gauge cluster, a power rear door with kick sensor for hands-free activation, Toyota’s Smart Key System with Push Button Start, and 400-watt power outlets in the cargo area and second row seating area.

All Sequoia models feature the newest Toyota Multimedia system: a powerful yet intuitive platform providing easy access to information, entertainment, and connected services – including Drive Connect (including Cloud Navigation with Destination Assist and the Toyota Intelligent Assistant with voice activation), Service Connect, Safety Connect, and Remote Connect. All grades support wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity, and feature full-colour touchscreens and USB input/charging ports. Every model is also Sirius XM Satellite Radio ready.

As a Toyota, every Sequoia also features a comprehensive safety package. This includes Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, an advanced bundle of active safety technologies and systems that support driver awareness and decision-making. Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety System, Intuitive Parking Assist with auto braking, the Toyota Blind Spot Monitor system with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Brake, the Rear Seat Reminder system, eight air bags, a tire pressure monitoring system with auto location, sway warning system, and a back-up camera with washer.
