TORONTO, Ontario (November 27th, 2023) – When you’re ready to explore the big world out there, the Toyota RAV4 family is ready for you. Canada’s most popular Toyota SUV comes 16 grades built around three powertrains – including two electrified choices. All are loaded with performance, capability, style, comfort and amenities. This year, the RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition is back and better than ever with additional styling cues, while Toyota introduces some new colour combinations to the RAV4 Trail model.
“The RAV4 is a true Canadian success story. Not only is it one of our most popular models, it’s also Canada’s best-loved SUV – from any manufacturer,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “Every member of the RAV4 family combines dynamic performance and a refined, versatile, and impressively-equipped interior with the quality that is at the heart of Toyota’s DNA to help you get the most out of every journey.”
Curb side, RAV4’s powerful stance and chiselled appearance sets it apart from the crowd. RAV4’s long wheelbase and wide track are more than great looking – they also contribute to a more confident, stable drive. Meantime, short overhangs and high ground clearance let RAV4 tackle tougher terrain. Body styling includes model-specific styling cues that reflect each vehicle’s features and capabilities.
Inside, RAV4 impresses with its refinement. The cabin features spaciousness, premium materials, a harmonious layout, and thoughtful features and amenities. There’s plenty of room for up to five adults, plus the versatility of 60/40 split folding rear seats to maximize cargo hauling abilities when required.
Every member of the RAV4 family is a technology showcase, headlined by the Toyota Multimedia system. This system is a bundle of start connectivity technologies that keep drivers informed and safe while simplifying their lives behind the wheel. Toyota Multimedia integrates wirelessly with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and features Toyota’s newest interface, which improves interaction between people and vehicle through sight, touch, and voice. Many functions may be controlled via the touch screen via the same gestures used on mobile phone screens.
Technology also informs performance, with a choice of three distinct all-wheel-drive powertrains. All three are engineered for power, dynamic handling, and all-weather capability. The result is increased driver confidence, whether accelerating onto a highway or negotiating a gravel road.
Offered in five grades built around a gasoline powertrain, the RAV4 features a 2.5L Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine paired with a direct-shift eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain generates 203 peak horsepower and up to 184 lb-ft of torque, while providing most RAV4 models with a 680 kg (1,500 lb) towing rating. In Canada, all RAV4 models come standard with Toyota’s Dynamic Torque Vectoring All Wheel Drive System.
The 2024 RAV4 family also includes eight hybrid grades, showcasing Toyota’s hybrid technology. This efficient powertrain features a 2.5L Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine, high-torque motor-generators, continuously variable transmission, and efficient storage batteries. The result is 219 net system horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque – for fast, confident acceleration, impressive fuel efficiency, and no need to plug in. All RAV4 Hybrid models ride on an electronic on-demand all wheel drive system featuring a dedicated electric motor at each wheel to channel torque where it’s needed.
For the ultimate power and efficiency, Toyota offers three RAV4 Prime grades, featuring a plug-in hybrid powertrain that’s a no-compromise approach to electrification that delivers big benefits to Canadian drivers. RAV4 Prime’s plug-in hybrid powertrain technology is built around a 2.5L four-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine and high torque electric motors that work together to deliver 302 net horsepower. The hybrid battery will charge in as little as 2.5 hours with a 240V outlet and allows the RAV4 Prime to operate in pure electric range for up to 68 kilometers, and travel at speeds of up to 135 km/h in EV mode. This powertrain gives RAV4 Prime a remarkable fuel efficiency rating of 2.5L equivalent per 100 kilometers (city/highway combined).
Every RAV4 also comes with an impressive package of safety features headlined by Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 – Toyota’s suite of active safety technologies and capabilities that supports driver awareness and decision making to help reduce the potential for accidents. Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety System, a backup camera, eight airbags, the Blind Spot Monitor System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and an engine immobilizer.

The choice starts with five RAV4 grades with gasoline powertrains:
