TORONTO, December 9, 2024 – Treat yourself to a stunning sedan that combines sporty performance, bold styling, advanced technology – and zero-emissions environmental leadership. The 2025 Toyota Mirai defines a future filled with unlimited possibilities.
“Toyota remains committed to putting Canadians in the driver’s seat when it comes to addressing climate change – and the Toyota Mirai demonstrates the power of our multi-pathway approach to vehicle electrification,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “With a zero-emissions hydrogen fuel cell at its heart, the Mirai delivers all the range and refuelling advantages of a traditional gasoline-powered vehicle, yet its only emission is water vapour.”
The Mirai is a stunning vehicle that’s exhilarating to drive and loaded with advanced features – making it everything drivers love about a well-engineered sedan. The Mirai is built on Toyota’s GA-L platform for premium rear-wheel-drive vehicles, giving it near-perfectly balanced weight distribution, a pavement-hugging centre of gravity, and multi-link suspensions that combine to deliver remarkable handling and agility.
Toyota engineers then enhanced this platform with one of the most advanced powertrains on the market. The Toyota Fuel Cell System enables Mirai to perform essentially as an electric vehicle, while never needing to be plugged in to recharge. Mirai’s advanced hydrogen fuel cell stack is the result of more than two decades of development, making it proven and safe. The stack combines compressed hydrogen gas from Mirai’s fuel tank with oxygen from the atmosphere. The resulting chemical reaction produces electricity to power the Mirai while creating water vapour as its only emission. Best of all, the Mirai has a range of up to 647 kilometers on a full tank and drivers can refill the hydrogen tank in about five minutes.
Remarkable as this powertrain is, it’s only the start – because Mirai also offers Canadian drivers the bold design, cutting-edge technology, and driving performance that lets it go head-to-head with the best sedans on the market.
First impressions matter, which is why Toyota designers gave Mirai a coupe-inspired body that conveys a sense of motion through its long hood, sweeping roofline, and short rear deck. The result is a dramatic yet refined sedan carefully engineered to reduce surface drag. Notable styling cues include long, narrow, auto-levelling LED headlamps that sweep into the fenders and a thin LED taillight panel that’s tapered at the centre of create unique night-time signatures from every angle.
Inside, Mirai welcomes up to five adults to a quiet and comfortable cabin that seamlessly blends exacting craftsmanship in a sophisticated, comfortable, modern cabin. Softex upholstery and synthetic leather instrument panel with satin trim, doors featuring satin plating and leather trim, and other premium details create a sophisticated cabin, while heated and power adjustable front seats and a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel ensure all-season comfort.
A 14-speaker JBL Premium Audio system delivers a thrilling audio experience for every drive. This system is enhanced with Bluetooth connectivity, wireless compatibility with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and integrated Sirius XM Satellite Radio.
As a technology showcase, the Mirai features the Toyota Multimedia system equipped with Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect, and Drive Connect services plus a 12.3-inch touchscreen and intuitive touch and voice activation controls.
As a Toyota, every Mirai also features a comprehensive safety package – headlined by Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. This bundle of active safety systems enhances driver awareness and control. Other standard safety equipment includes the Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, the Intelligent Clearance Sonar system with Rear Cross Traffic Brake, a Panoramic View Monitor, Traffic Jam Assist, a Driver Monitor Camera, Lane Change Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert, and Safe Exit Assist.
Toyota Canada offers the Mirai in a single, well-equipped model:
