TORONTO, July 22, 2025 – A publicly available Level 3 EV charging station has been officially launched in Scarborough, Ontario.

Part of its multi-pathway approach to a Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) society, the station was developed and will be managed by Mitsui Canada. The pilot project is equipped with Jule’s Level 3 charging equipment and is hosted at Toyota Canada's headquarters at 1 Toyota Place in Scarborough, Ontario.

“We are honored to have contributed to enhancing the BEV user experience through our collaboration with Toyota Canada. Mitsui Canada looks forward to continuing to create new value together with our partners,” said Takeshi Mitsui, President at Mitsui Canada.

Strengthening Canada's EV Charging Network

Available to the general public, Mitsui hopes the station will contribute to strengthening Canada’s EV charging network. Featuring four Level 3 fast charging pedestals, the station is powered and supported by Jule's battery storage technology, contributing to efficient, reliable, and grid-friendly electric vehicle charging.

“Jule’s technology offers a real-world solution to two of the most pressing barriers to EV adoption: charger accessibility and grid limitations,” said Carmine Pizzurro, President of Jule. “We are excited to partner with organizations like Mitsui Canada to support a sustainable transportation future.”

Scarborough-based Jule was born from a lab at the University of Toronto. It designs, manufactures, and deploys advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems coupled with high-powered EV charging stations.

“Continued investment in charging infrastructure is key to Canada’s transition toward electrified mobility, and we are proud to host Mitsui’s charging station,” stated Leslie Miller, CFO and COO, Toyota Canada Inc. “This project will bring more reliable and accessible EV charging to the community surrounding our head office.”
