TORONTO, May 1, 2025 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) continues to see strong demand for its electrified vehicles, reaching a record 12,793 electrified units sold in April 2025, representing 51.9% of overall April sales.
Both Toyota and Lexus reached best month ever records for electrified vehicles sales. For the Toyota Division, electrified vehicles sales reached a record 10,651 units, representing 50.9% of all units sold in April 2025. Lexus reached a record for electrified sales with 2,142 units sold, representing 57.5% of all Lexus Division units sold in April 2025.
Numerous hybrid-powered nameplates saw strong demand during April, including:
Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) sold 24,644 vehicles in April, down 1.7% from April 2024.
Toyota division saw April sales of 20,916 units sold, down 5.6% from April 2024.
Lexus division saw its best month ever, with record sales of 3,728 units sold, up 28.0% from April 2024.
Toyota and Lexus vehicles assembled in Canada in high demand
The assembled in Canada Toyota RAV4, also the country's best-selling passenger vehicle, saw sales of 9,483 units in April, good for its best month ever. Sales of its hybrid version were up 130.9% year over year. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada-made Lexus RX and NX also saw strong April sales, with the NX reaching a best month sales ever record, up 122.3%, helped by April record sales of the NX Hybrid, up 257.0% year over year.
