Toyota and Lexus vehicles assembled in Canada Reach Record May Sales


TORONTO, June 3, 2025 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) May sales were up 12.6% year over year, helped by strong demand for its electrified vehicles. Sales reached a record of 12,913 electrified units, up 43.7% year over year, marking its strongest month ever for electrified vehicles.

Both Toyota and Lexus reached records for electrified vehicles sales. For the Toyota Division, electrified vehicles sales reached an all-time monthly record of 10,886 units, representing 47.1% of all Toyota units sold in May 2025, up 40.5% year over year (YOY). Lexus reached a May record for electrified sales with 2,027 units sold, representing 57.1% of all Lexus Division units sold in May 2025, up 63.1% YOY.

Numerous hybrid-powered nameplates saw strong demand during April, including:

  • Toyota Camry Hybrid (up 237.9%)

  • Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (up 67.9%)

  • Toyota Crown Signia (best month sales since launch)

  • Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid (up 80.5%, best month sales ever)

  • Toyota Land Cruiser (best month sales since launch)

  • Toyota Sienna (up 57.9%, best May)

  • Lexus ES Hybrid (up 8.2%)

  • Lexus UX Hybrid (up 4.6%)

  • Lexus NX Hybrid (up 283.7%, best May)

  • Lexus NX 450h+ (up 451.3%, best month ever)

  • Lexus RX Hybrid (up 23.8%)

  • Lexus RX 450h+ (up 28.1%, best May)

  • Lexus TX Hybrid (up 18.7%, best May)

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) sold 26,643 vehicles in May, up 12.6% from May 2024.

Toyota division saw May sales of 23,090 units sold, up 9.1% from May 2024.

Lexus division saw record May sales, with sales of 3,553 units sold, up 41.3% from May 2024.

Toyota and Lexus vehicles assembled in Canada in high demand
The assembled in Canada Toyota RAV4, also the country's best-selling passenger vehicle, saw sales of 8,958 units in May, good for a record month of May. Sales of its hybrid version were up 67.9% year over year. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada-made Lexus RX and NX also saw strong May sales, with the NX Hybrid reaching a record May, up 283.7% year over year.
