TORONTO, August 20, 2026 – The bZ Woodland, Toyota’s rugged electric SUV, combines zero-emissions driving with modern amenities and the performance, versatility, and adventure-ready confidence to take Canadians beyond the pavement.

“The bZ Woodland is a compelling example of how Toyota’s multi-pathway approach delivers exceptional choice to Canadian drivers, as one of 21 electrified Toyota vehicles – including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery-electric options – each designed to meet a range of needs,” said Steve Pilkey, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Toyota Canada Inc. “Blending midsize SUV utility with exhilarating electric performance and standard all-wheel drive, the bZ Woodland brings an adventure-ready spirit to the bZ family.”

The 2027 bZ Woodland is powered by a 74.7 kWh battery, built around a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain that delivers an impressive 375 system horsepower. This makes it Toyota’s most powerful BEV – capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. It also offers up to 452 km of range (418 km when equipped with optional All-Terrain tires), 215 mm of ground clearance, and up to 3,500-pound (1,588 kg) towing capacity.

The bZ Woodland is built on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, which positions the high-capacity lithium-ion battery low in the chassis to optimize the vehicle’s centre of gravity and boost driving dynamics. Independent Macpherson strut front suspension and independent double wishbone rear suspension enhance the experience by increasing the driver’s sense of command and control.

To help Canadians get the most out of their bZ Woodland, it comes standard with X-MODE and Grip Control, all-wheel drive functions that help optimize brake control and power delivery to the wheels for enhanced control and traction. The bZ Woodland also features a suite of Toyota technologies designed to enhance capability and confidence, including intelligent clearance sonar, Multi-Terrain Select system, Downhill Assist Control, Crawl Mode, Multi-Terrain Monitor system, and Panoramic view Monitor.

The 2027 bZ Woodland is equipped with the North American Charging System (NACS) for access to most high-speed chargers across North America. Under ideal conditions, DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. Meantime, Plug & Charge enables automatic billing identification while a battery preconditioning system enables consistent charge times in colder weather. New this year, every bZ receives CCS and J1772 charging adapters for added charging convenience and flexibility.

On the street or on the trail, the bZ Woodland’s bold design and confident stance makes an immediate impression from every angle. Notable exterior features include bi-LED projector headlights with LED accent lights, daytime running lights, and rear combination lamps, black badging, power-adjustable and folding heated mirrors with puddle lights, rain-sensing wipers with wiper de-icers, a rear window wiper, and ladder-style roof rails.

Inside, the cabin is inviting and roomy, with notable standard features including heated front and rear seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, front and rear 64-colour ambient lighting, and cargo area lamp. Drivers will appreciate the Softex-clad and heated steering wheel, paddle shifters, 7-inch digital gauge cluster, where controls and gauges are carefully placed within natural sightlines. With plenty of space for up to five adults and adventure-ready gear, the bZ Woodland has 60/40 split second-row seats to maximize versatility and space, plus a power back door with kick sensor for hands-free operation that makes access a breeze. Compared to the standard bZ, it has 140 mm of additional length and 20 mm of additional height in the rear, allowing the bZ Woodland to offer 2,120 litres of cargo volume with the second-row seatbacks folded flat.

The 2027 bZ Woodland is impressively equipped with state-of-the-art technology – headlined by the Toyota Multimedia system, including Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect, and Drive Connect. This bundle of smart connectivity technologies helps keep drivers informed and safe while simplifying their lives behind the wheel. Toyota Multimedia integrates wirelessly with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and features a Toyota interface that improves interaction between driver and vehicle through sight, touch, and voice. Other notable standard technology features include three USB charging ports, Sirius XM Satelllite radio, a dual wireless charging dock for smartphones, and the Toyota Smart Key System with Push Button Start and a digital key.

The bZ Woodland is also standard equipped with an impressive suite of safety features headlined by Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 – designed to support driver awareness and decision making to help reduce the potential for accidents. Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety System, eight airbags, the rear seat reminder system, headlamp cleaning system, a backup camera with back guide monitor and rear camera washer, the Blind Spot Monitor system with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Safe Exit Assist, Parking Support Brake with object and pedestrian detection, a tire pressure monitor system, a driver monitor camera, an anti-theft alarm system with engine immobilizer, and an onboard tire repair kit.

Toyota offers Canadians a choice of two well-equipped 2027 bZ Woodland grades:
