TORONTO, August 19, 2026 – The Toyota C-HR is ready for daily driving or weekend getaways with its combination of spirited performance, onboard amenities, practicality, and impressive all-electric range. Stylish and spacious, the C-HR is offered in three grades across two powertrains, giving Canadians the flexibility to choose the model that best suits their needs.

“The C-HR is Toyota’s most affordable battery-electric vehicle - offering Canadians a compelling blend of dynamic style and performance, with a starting MSRP below $45,000,” said Steve Pilkey, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Toyota Canada Inc. “The C-HR also plays an important role in Toyota’s electrification strategy, giving Canadians access to 21 electrified models – including three battery-electric options.”

The 2027 C-HR features two battery-electric powertrains paired with a 77-kWh battery, for an exhilarating, fun-to-drive experience. The front-wheel drive SE delivers 221 system horsepower and an impressive range of up to 496 kilometers. All-wheel-drive models feature two motors that maximize power and performance, delivering 338 system horsepower and accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, with a range of up to 452 kilometers (438 kilometers when equipped with 20-inch wheels on XSE Premium).

All C-HR models are built on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, which positions the high-capacity lithium-ion battery low in the chassis to optimize the vehicle’s centre of gravity, enhance driving dynamics, and increase the driver’s sense of command and control. Suspension parts have also been precisely tuned for the C-HR, including spring and damper performance and the stiffness of the anti-roll bars.

The C-HR is equipped with the North American Charging System (NACS) for access to most high-speed chargers across North America. Under ideal conditions, DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. Meantime, Plug & Charge enables automatic billing identification while a battery preconditioning system enables consistent charge times in colder weather. New this year, every bZ receives CCS and J1772 charging adapters for added charging convenience and flexibility.

Curbside, the 2027 C-HR broadcasts its sporty nature with flowing body lines and a wide stance that stands out from the crowd. Notable exterior features include grade-specific wheels, bi-LED projector headlights with LED accent lights, front turn signal lamps, daytime running lights, and rear combination lamps, power-adjustable and folding heated mirrors, rain-sensing wipers with de-icers, and a sporty rear diffuser. A variety of exterior paint colours, in single and two-tone paint options (on XSE Premium), are also available.

Inside, the cabin is clean, open and comfortable, with space for up to five adults. Notable standard features include Softex-accented upholstery, two-zone automatic climate control, and a 64-colour ambient lighting system. Drivers will appreciate the heated steering wheel, paddle shifters, and digital gauge cluster, where controls and gauges are carefully placed within natural sightlines. When the journey requires room for gear, the C-HR demonstrates impressive versatility, with up to 720 litres of cargo space behind the rear seats and up to 1,685 litres with the 60/40 split-folding rear seatbacks folded flat.

Every C-HR is impressively equipped with state-of-the-art technology – headlined by the Toyota Multimedia system, including Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect, and Drive Connect and a 14-inch display. This bundle of smart connectivity technologies helps keep drivers informed and safe while simplifying their lives behind the wheel. Toyota Multimedia integrates wirelessly with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and features a Toyota interface that improves interaction between driver and vehicle through sight, touch, and voice. Other notable technology features standard on all grades include dual wireless charging docks for smartphones, and the Toyota Smart Key System with Push Button Start and a digital key.

Every C-HR is also standard equipped with an impressive suite of safety features headlined by Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 – designed to support driver awareness and decision making to help reduce the potential for accidents. Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety System, eight airbags, the rear seat reminder system, a backup camera with back guide monitor, the Blind Spot Monitor system with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Safe Exit Assist, and an anti-theft alarm system with engine immobilizer.

Toyota offers Canadians a choice of three 2027 C-HR grades, each designed to meet a broad range of needs:

The 2027 C-HR SE starts with 18-inch alloy wheels and features a 6-speaker audio system, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, 14-inch multimedia touchscreen, ambient interior illumination, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, Softex and fabric upholstery, heated steering wheel with paddle shifters, roof rails, auto-dimming rearview mirror with integrated garage door opener, a 120V/1500W inverter, and front and rear parking assist with auto brake.

The 2027 C-HR XSE AWD adds all-wheel drive and additional features including a driver’s seat memory system, 8-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, synthetic suede and Softex upholstery, reverse auto-tilt exterior mirrors with puddle lamps, Panoramic View Monitor, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert, and a Driver Monitor Camera.
