TORONTO, April 9, 2026 – Toyota’s legendary truck is the fully capable SUV for Canadians ready to embark on new, epic adventures. An icon for more than six decades, the 2027 Toyota Land Cruiser is offered in three distinct grades – each loaded with modern performance, connectivity, comfort, and safety features for the modern explorer.

“The Toyota Land Cruiser is ideal for Canadians who are keen to explore everything our country has to offer - from its natural beauty to its urban city centres and highways” said Robert Tsang, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “The exclusively electrified Land cruiser takes advantage of our industry leading hybrid-electric powertrain technology to deliver performance and impressive efficiency all in a capable package designed for wherever the road or trail leads.”

Every 2027 Land Cruiser is built with capability and reliability at its core. This starts with its i-FORCE MAX hybrid-electric powertrain. Built around a 2.4L four-cylinder turbo engine and eight-speed automatic, this powertrain generates 326 net system horsepower and up to 465 lb-ft of torque even as it improves fuel efficiency. Every Land Cruiser is factory fitted with a tow hitch so explorers can take advantage of its 6,000-pound towing rating.

Toyota engineers then enhanced every Land Cruiser with an impressive package of handling and control technologies. These start with full-time four-wheel drive with an electronically locking differential for even greater off-roading capabilities. An independent double-wishbone front suspension and four-link rear suspension with coil springs absorb off-road shocks while providing a comfortable on-road ride. Every Land Cruiser is further enhanced with highly responsive electric power steering, Crawl control, Downhill Assist Control, and a Drive Mode Select system with Normal, Sport, and Eco settings.

This impressive performance is wrapped in equally impressive style – reflecting the iconic design of the original Land Cruiser. The design balances clean lines and simplicity with functionality – including short overhangs, muscular fender flares and mudguards, running boards, high ground clearance, retractable mirrors, an upright front windshield with rain-sensing wipers with de-icers, rear side window privacy glass, and fog lamps. There’s even a 1958 edition honouring the year Toyota introduced the Land Cruiser to North America, featuring round headlamps and other vintage styling cues.

Inside, Land Cruiser’s cabin is spacious and comfortable, ensuring every adventure is enjoyable. Standard features of note include heated front seats, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped shift knob, automatic climate control, an auto-diming rear-view mirror with integrated garage door opener, all-season floor mats, a 12V accessory power outlet and a 2400-watt AC outlet in the cargo area.

Every Land Cruiser is a technology showcase, headlined by the Toyota Multimedia system. This bundle of smart connectivity technologies helps keep drivers informed and safe while simplifying their lives behind the wheel. Toyota Multimedia integrates wirelessly with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and features a Toyota interface that improves interaction between people and vehicle through sight, touch, and voice. Many functions may be controlled via the touch screen via the same gestures used on mobile phone screens. Other standard technologies on all models include USB-C charging ports, a display audio system with HD Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a full digital gauge cluster, and the Toyota Smart Key System with Push Button Start.

Every Land Cruiser also comes with an impressive package of safety features headlined by Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 – a suite of active safety technologies and capabilities that supports driver awareness and decision making to help reduce the potential for accidents. Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety System, the Blind Spot Monitor system with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, a backup camera with camera washer, Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking, nine airbags, and an anti-theft alarm system with engine immobilizer and motion sensor alarm. The 2027 Land Cruiser includes 5-year Connected Services trials for Safety Connect*, Service Connect*, and Remote Connect*, with a 3-month trial of Drive Connect*. Toyota offers Canadians three distinct Land Cruiser grades:

The Land Cruiser 1958 is the heritage-inspired edition that combines modern capability with retro styling. Immediately recognizable by its round LED headlights, this model also features 18-inch alloy wheels, a Toyota Multimedia system with Service Connect, Safety Connect, and Remote Connect plus eight-inch touchscreen display, six-speaker audio system, four USB-C charging ports, seven-inch digital gauge cluster, fabric upholstery, a tilting/telescoping steering column, and a two-zone automatic climate control system.

The Land Cruiser takes the iconic SUV in a more modern direction. Built on the 1958 grade, this model introduces several performance enhancements. These include a stabilizer disconnect mechanism that lets drivers engage the front stabilizer bar for improved higher-speed on-road performance, then disengage it for greater articulation during off-road excursions. Other upgrades include the Multi-terrain Select System, Multi-Terrain Monitor, power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front row seats, Softex upholstery, a power-adjustable steering column, and three-zone automatic climate control. The exterior features rectangular LED headlights and Rigid Industries colour-selectable fog lights, plus a moon roof, bridge-type roof rails, heated side mirrors, and a power back door. Technology upgrades include a 12.3-inch display for the Toyota Multimedia system, a 12.3-inch full digital gauge cluster, a 10-speaker audio system, two USB-C charging points in the cargo area, and a wireless dock for charging personal electronics.

The Land Cruiser Premium Package further enhances the Land Cruiser, adding Drive Connect to the Toyota Multimedia system, 20-inch alloy wheels, illuminated running boards, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a 14-speaker JBL Premium Audio system, a Head Up Display, a digital key, leather upholstery, a driver’s seat memory system, a power adjustable front passenger’s seat, a digital display rear view mirror, and a centre console cooler box. New for 2027, the Premium Package receives heated and ventilated rear seats as standard. Active safety upgrades include Front Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.
