This diverse powertrain strategy allows Grand Highlander to serve a wide range of customer needs, from efficiency-minded families to drivers who prioritize stronger performance and towing capability. Manufacturer-estimated city/highway combined fuel consumption is 7.0L/100 km for the Hybrid XLE, Woodland, and Limited models, 10.0L/100 km for the XLE gas model, 10.7L/100 km for the Limited gas model, and 8.8L/100 km for the Hybrid MAX Platinum model. Grand Highlander also offers a 5,000-pound towing capacity on gas grades and the Hybrid MAX model, and a 3,500-pound towing capacity on Hybrid grades.

Exterior

The Toyota Grand Highlander’s design captures the essence of a family-friendly SUV. On the outside, Grand Highlander expresses capability with a confident stance and a clean, sophisticated silhouette. Its broad front fenders, tapered hood, trapezoidal grille, and wide-set rear styling create a modern, substantial presence. Its side profile is simple yet active, with clean door and fender panels, black overfenders, and a flat roofline that’s accentuated by a rear spoiler.

The impressive stance continues to the rear, with flared rear arches, and wide set tail lamps that are underscored by the rear bumper and accentuate its width. Functional details such as wide rear door openings for easier third-row access, large side glass for outward visibility, and available 20-inch wheels further support its family-oriented mission while enhancing curb appeal. The Hybrid MAX powertrain variant takes it a step further with standard exposed dual exhaust tips and unique silver painted bumper accents.

Interior

Grand Highlander’s ample size is paired with a cabin engineered for comfort and calm. Standard acoustic glass on the windshield and front side windows, along with strategically placed noise-reducing materials throughout the vehicle, help create a quiet, relaxing environment for drivers and passengers alike.

The Grand Highlander’s roomy, versatile interior is designed to make long trips and everyday drives equally enjoyable. With seating for up to eight and an adult-sized third row, Grand Highlander delivers the kind of space that helps set it apart. The third row offers 851 mm (33.5 inches) of legroom and 945 mm (37.2 inches) of headroom, while cargo capacity reaches 2,761 litres (97.5 cubic feet) with the rear seats folded flat. Even with all three rows in use, Grand Highlander can accommodate seven carry-on suitcases, underscoring its real-world practicality for active families.

The interior experience is further elevated by a clean, contemporary design and a strong emphasis on functionality. Across the cabin, thoughtful storage, generous cupholder placement, available second-row captain’s chairs, and premium materials help reinforce Grand Highlander’s upscale, family-first character. A soft-touch instrument panel, available wood-effect trim, refined stitchwork, and a wide, horizontal layout contribute to an airy and elegant cabin feel.

Standard features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen, three-zone automatic climate control with second- and third-row vents, and seven USB-C charging ports help make Grand Highlander convenient and comfortable. Available upgrades including leather-trimmed seating, heated and ventilated second-row seats, and JBL® Premium Audio add an even more premium touch.
