Record August for assembled-in-Canada RAV4 Hybrid
Lexus division sets August sales record
TORONTO, September 1, 2026 – Electrified vehicles led August sales for Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI), reaching a record of 14,461 electrified units sold last month, up 35.6% year over year (YOY).
These record electrified sales represented 64.3% of overall sales, including August sales records for the Crown Signia, Sienna and Tacoma Hybrid, as well as the best month of sales yet for the bZ Woodland (BEV), launched four months ago.
The now fully electrified new generation 2026 RAV4 saw its assembled-in-Canada hybrid version have a record month for the fourth month in a row, up 69.8% on a YTD basis.
bZ (BEV, up 93.7% YOY), RAV4 PHEV (August record, up 121.1% YOY), Corolla Cross Hybrid (up 45.1% YOY), 4Runner Hybrid (up 28.3% YOY), Lexus UX (Hybrid, up 28.2% YOY), Lexus NX Hybrid (up 34.7% YOY), Lexus NX 450h+ (PHEV, August record, up 173.4% YOY), and Lexus RX 450h+ (PHEV, August record, up 21.5%) are amongst the other electrified nameplates that achieved significant August sales.
These electrified sales contributed significantly to overall TCI sales of 22,473 vehicles in August, up 2.9% from August 2025.
Toyota Division recorded August sales of 19,698 units, up 1.8% YOY, with electrified sales representing 65.2% of all Toyota units sold.
Lexus Division achieved record August sales with 2,775 units sold, up 10.9% YOY. Electrified vehicle sales represented 58.2% of overall Lexus sales.
