Toyota Canada Releases March and Q1 Sales Results

Record Q1 and March sales of electrified vehicles

Record quarter for BEV sales



TORONTO, April 1st, 2026 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) continues to see strong demand for its electrified vehicles, reaching a record of 15,057 electrified units sold in March 2026, up 20.9% year-over-year, for a record total of 29,415 electrified vehicles sold during Q1 2026.

These electrified vehicles sales represented 66.7% of overall March TCI sales and 59.3% of overall Q1 TCI sales.

A total of 9,379 Zero-Emission Vehicles (ZEV, comprised of EV, PHEV and FCEV) units were among the electrified Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in Q1 2026. These ZEV sales were helped by a record quarter for Toyota bZ and record Q1 sales for Toyota Prius PHEV and Lexus NX 450h+. Lexus RX 450h+ saw record March sales.

BEV sales, helped by record bZ and strong RZ sales, as well as the introduction of the new 2026 C-HR, reached its best quarter ever with 4,891 sales.

For Q1, Toyota Division electrified vehicles sales reached a record Q1, representing 59.2% of all units sold in Q1 2026 while electrified vehicles represented 59.4% of all Lexus Division units sold in Q1 2026.

For March, Toyota Division electrified vehicles sales represented 67.1% of all units sold in March while electrified vehicles represented 63.4% of all Lexus Division units sold in March.

 

March and Q1 Sales

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) sold 49,628 vehicles during Q1 2026, down 2.4% year over year and sold 22,585 vehicles in March 2026, down 0.8% from March 2025.

Toyota division saw Q1 sales of 42,663 units sold, down 1.1% year over year and March sales of 19,861 units, up 1.7% from March 2025.

Lexus division saw Q1 sales of 6,965 units sold, down 9.5% year over year and March sales of 2,724 units, down 15.5% from March 2025.
