Toyota Canada releases September and Q3 2026 sales results

TORONTO, October 1, 2026 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) continues to see strong demand for its electrified vehicles, reaching a September record of 15,077 electrified units sold, up 49.8% year-over-year (YOY), for a record total of 40,019 electrified vehicles sold during Q3 2026.

These electrified vehicles sales represented 67.1% of overall September TCI sales and 65.7% of overall Q3 TCI sales.

Year-to-date (YTD), TCI has already sold a record 130,369 electrified vehicles, surpassing the previous electrified vehicle sales number (123,879 units - set in 2025) in only nine months.

A record total of 10,114 zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs, comprised of BEVs and PHEVs) were among the electrified Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in Q3 2026. These ZEV sales were helped by a record quarter for the bZ and bZ Woodland battery electric vehicles, and Q3 sales records for RAV4 PHEV and Lexus PHEV vehicles. Both BEV sales and PHEV sales saw record quarters.

For Q3, Toyota Division electrified vehicles sales had a record quarter, representing 67.0% of all units sold in Q3 2026, while electrified vehicles represented 57.3% of all Lexus Division units sold in Q3 2026.

For September, Toyota Division electrified vehicles sales represented 67.1% of all units sold in September while electrified vehicles represented 54.9% of all Lexus Division units sold in September.

September and Q3 Sales

TCI sold 70,008 vehicles during Q3 2026, up 8.3% year over year, and sold 22,477 vehicles in September 2026, up 13.6% from September 2025. Both represent quarterly and monthly records.

Toyota division saw Q3 sales of 60,881 units, up 6.9% year over year, and September sales of 19,136 units, up 10.4% from September 2025.

Lexus division saw record Q3 sales of 9,127 units sold, up 18.5% year over year, and record September sales of 3,341 units, up 36.1% from September 2025.

Q3 2026 was the best Q3 for TCI and for Lexus since 2021, and the best Q3 for Toyota since 2008.

Canadian production counts

The now-fully-electrified new generation 2026 RAV4 saw its built-in-Canada hybrid version have a record month for the fifth consecutive month, up 189.63% on a YTD basis.

Similarly, built-in-Canada Lexus NX and NX Hybrid saw September sales increases in the double digits, significantly contributing to a record Q3 for the NX family.
