TORONTO, August 6, 2026 – Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain model year 2024 Tacoma TRD Offroad vehicles. Approximately 3,551 vehicles are involved in this recall in Canada.
Over time, corrosion can build up and cause the oil reservoir on the shock absorbers in the subject vehicles to detach. If the reservoir detaches while driving, it can create a road hazard, potentially increasing the risk of a crash or injury to another road user.
All known owners of the subject vehicles will be notified to return their vehicle to a Toyota dealer. For all involved vehicles, the dealer will inspect the front and rear shock absorber assemblies and will replace the affected shock absorber assemblies with improved ones, at no cost.
For all involved vehicles, Toyota will notify customers by early October 2026.
Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is current as of today’s filing date and is subject to change thereafter.
