TORONTO, ON – JULY 15, 2020 – Express your love of craftsmanship, performance and comfort in the 2021 Toyota Avalon. Choose from two distinctive configurations – the aggressively styled and very sporty Avalon XSE, now equipped with a heated steering wheel, or the luxuriously-appointed, nothing left wanting Avalon Limited, which introduces all-wheel-drive for sure-footed performance in any weather. Toyota introduced the fifth-generation Avalon in 2019, injecting Toyota’s flagship sedan with bolder styling, amped up performance and handling, and a long list of premium and luxury features.

Avalon’s long, wide body with low centre of gravity creates an aggressive stance, which designers then wrapped in a daring, sleek coupe-like body. More than just a beautiful sedan, the design has been carefully engineered to maximize handling, stability, and aerodynamic performance to create a full-size sedan that slices through the air – minimizing turbulence, enhancing fuel efficiency, and creating a quiet, serene cabin.

Inside, the best of Toyota’s tradition of craftsmanship and attention to detail is on full display. Authentic details such as real wood trim, quilted door trim, and exquisite leather invite driver and up to four more passengers to a world of comfort and amenities. Avalon’s sleek body profile opens up to reveal impressive room for all occupants – including those in the back seat. Ample shoulder room, head room, and leg space ensures every passenger rides in comfort. For the driver, a thoughtfully-designed steering wheel and floating centre console put all switches and controls in harmonious, natural reach while an eight-way power adjustable seat makes it easy to find the ideal driving position. A power moon roof adds to the open feeling of the cabin, while dual zone automatic climate control fosters year-round comfort for all.

All 2021 Avalon models set new standards for powerful yet intuitive technology. Connected Services by Toyota puts the world at one’s fingertips with a bundle of advanced multimedia services in addition to compatibility with Apple CarPlay™ and – new for 2021 – Android Auto™. Other technology features include Bluetooth connectivity, integrated Sirius XM Satellite Radio, a 9-inch display audio system, 7-inch multi information display, and the Qi wireless charging system plus four USB connections and 12v power supply.

As a Toyota, the 2021 Avalon delivers full-size, no compromise safety performance, too. Toyota Safety Sense P headlines the safety package, bundling a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, and automatic high beam function. Other safety features common to all models include the Toyota Star Safety System (antilock brake system, brake assist, electronic brake force distribution, smart stop technology, vehicle stability control and traction control), 10 air bags, and the Toyota Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Even the multimedia system contributes to safety, as the Connected Services by Toyota package includes Safety Connect (1 year trial) with automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle locator, and enhanced roadside assistance and emergency assistance button.

The 2021 Avalon is available in two distinct configurations, as follows:

The 2021 Toyota Avalon XSE redefines the full-size premium sedan as a sporty, performance-focused cruiser. This front-wheel-drive model is built around a 301-horsepower direct-injection 3.5-litre V6, mated to a direct-shift 8-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Engineers have fine-tuned the suspension system on the XSE to emphasize responsiveness and cornering dynamics, while an engine sound generator enhances the aggressive sound of the powertrain at start-up, during acceleration, and when the XSE’s drive mode select system is set for Sport. New this year, the XSE now includes a heated steering wheel and Audio Plus with Remote which includes Remote Connect (1 year trial), Safety Connect (1 year trial), and Service Connect (10 year trial). Other features of note on this model include 19” alloy wheels, a sport grille and rear spoiler, heated front seats, SofTex seating material with ultrasuede accents  and eight speakers.

The 2021 Toyota Avalon Limited emphasizes comfort and luxury, making even the longest journey and enjThe Avalon Limited driveyable, relaxing experience. This model introduces Avalon’s first-ever all-wheel-drive system. The Dynamic Torque Control AWD provides effective traction in inclement weather by directing up to 50 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels when required. When AWD isn’t needed, the system minimizes AWD’s typical drag on fuel efficiency by automatically disengaging the rear axle, seamlessly switching between AWD and FWD modes as needed. The Avalon Limited drive train also features a direct-shift 8-speed automatic transmission, plus a high-efficiency 205 peak horsepower 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine to help balance impressive traction with exemplary efficiency. Other features of note on this model include premium LED headlamps, 18” alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, a driver’s seat memory system, and semi-aniline leather seats. Technology upgrades include a 10” head up display, a 14-speaker JBL Premium Audio system with Clari-fi and Premium Audio with Remote which includes Embedded Navigation, Destination Assist (1 year trial), Remote Connect (1 year trial), Safety Connect (1 year trial) and Service Connect (10 year trial). Safety features specific to this model include the Bird’s Eye View Monitor, Blind Spot Monitor enhanced with Rear Cross Traffic Brake system, and Intelligent Clearance Sonar.

The 2021 Avalon will go on sale later this year at Toyota Dealers across Canada. For complete and up to date details and specifications, visit www.toyota.ca/avalon.
