TORONTO, ONTARIO – SEPTEMBER 17, 2020 –When you want a powerful and capable pickup truck that’s built for adventure-seeking, there’s only one choice – the Toyota Tacoma.

“The Tacoma is the product of more than 80 years of building trucks that tackle and tame the harshest driving conditions on the planet, and this year we offer two fresh models: the stylish and sophisticated Nightshade and the rugged and ready Trail,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “In addition, every model in our 15-vehicle lineup gets new features to make 2021 a great year to get behind the wheel of a Tacoma and start a new adventure.”

For 2021, Toyota Canada introduces two new models, both featuring Double Cabs and five-foot beds:

The Toyota Tacoma Nightshade is equipped with a long list of premium features, then finished with a unique styling package featuring a premium black leather interior and numerous black exterior styling cues.

The Toyota Tacoma Trail is a ruggedly-stylish model equipped with many trail-friendly features at an attractive price.

Also for 2021, Toyota enhances all Tacoma models with dual-zone automatic air conditioning and display audio system that now support both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

All models feature a hard-playing exterior that’s a clear reflection of Tacoma’s capabilities. Sport models feature sophisticated style while trail and off-road models express their terrain-conquering prowess. All models are equipped with many practical features that Tacoma owners will love and others will envy – such as the locking tailgate that is not only easy to lift and lower but also to remove. Coupled with a rear step bumper, loading and unloading is a breeze.

If Tacoma’s exterior sets it apart from the competition, the interior puts it in the class by itself. Tacoma is ready to take you where others fear to tread in comfort and in style, with comfortable seating, versatile interiors, plenty of in-cabin storage space, thoughtfully designed instrumentation and controls that put everything at the driver’s beck and call, and an attention to materials, detail, quality, and finish that only Toyota can deliver.

Under the hood, all 2021 Tacoma models feature a powerful yet efficient 3.5-litre V6 coupled to a choice of 6-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual gearbox. The result is plenty of power and impressive efficiency. Heavy-duty suspensions are ready to provide secure footing over almost any terrain while keeping driver and passengers comfortable. And every model comes factory-equipped with a towing package that includes Class IV hitch, 7-pin wire harness, and trailer sway control.

All models feature an impressive bundle of powerful yet intuitive technologies plus comfort and convenience amenities. Every model includes a touchscreen-equipped display audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a tilting/telescoping steering wheel, scuff plates, and rear privacy glass.

A long list of standard safety systems includes Toyota Safety Sense P, the Toyota Star Safety System, a backup camera, and eight air bags.

The Toyota Tacoma comes in three basic configurations: five-person Double Cab with five-foot bed, five-person Double Cab with six-foot bed, and four-person Access Cab with six-foot bed.
