Fuel-friendly cars and trucks, including hybrids, prove popular with Canadian drivers
In addition to these fuel efficient choices, customers favoured Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicles with 914 purchases this July, led by Prius at a sales increase of 137.0 per cent year to date.
“With concerns over high fuel costs and a desire to make things better for the environment, Canadian drivers continue to look for the right vehicle, at the right time, at the right price – and with Toyota, they’re finding that relief is in sight,” said Warren Orton, Director at TCI. “It’s particularly gratifying that the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Matrix – both built right here in Canada and sold across North America – continue to be among our top three selling models.”
“Canadians of seeking luxury also recognize the rewards of reducing their environmental impact, and have turned to Lexus yet again in July to help them achieve that,” said Yves Gionet, Director of Lexus in Canada. “With Lexus, no compromise fuel-efficiency and emissions performance comes in many forms – from the world’s only collection of luxury hybrids, to our luxurious yet accessible IS and ES series sedans, to our popular Canadian built Lexus RX350.”
