Toyota Canada Inc. reports July 2011 sales


TORONTO, ON – August 3, 2011 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) today reported sales of 12,167 Toyota, Lexus and Scion cars, trucks and SUVs in July, 2011. TCI experienced rebounding sales in July which coincided with the ramp-up of North American built production. Although a decrease of 18.2% from July 2010, TCI July 2011 sales exceeded both May and June of this year. The company recorded a 6.1% month over month increase from June to July, against an estimated 14.2% decline in the total Canadian market over that same period.

Toyota sold 11,231 cars, trucks and SUVs in July, a decrease of 17.9%.
 
“With the return to 100 per cent production for most North American built vehicles, Toyota’s sales momentum has been increasing for the past two months,” said Tony Wearing, Managing Director, Toyota Canada Inc. “And with the launch of four all-new models this fall, we will have excellent selection and a lot of exciting new choices for Canadian drivers.

Lexus sold 936 luxury vehicles in July, a decrease of 22.1%.
