TORONTO, ONTARIO, December 1, 2016 – With another month left in the year, Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) is reporting that both hybrids and trucks have already set annual sales records with 18,420 units sold, up 46.1% and 119,516 units sold, up 11.0% year-over-year, respectively.
TCI is also reporting its best November ever with 16,492 units sold, up 4.2% compared to last year. The Toyota division reported 14,617 units, up 4.3% over 2015, while the Lexus division set a November record with 1,875 units sold, up 3.4% over 2015.
November Record for Hybrid and Truck Sales
TCI hybrids also set a November record with 1,790 units sold, up 102.3% - representing 10.9% of TCI’s total sales for the month. With the Prius family leading the way, Toyota brand hybrid sales were up 128.2% with 1,650 units sold.
TCI trucks experienced a strong year and had a 10th record month this year with 10,260 units sold, up 1.1% compared to 2015. Led by RAV4, it was the best ever November for Toyota brand trucks, with 8,880 units sold, up 0.8% compared to 2015. Led by the RX, Lexus brand trucks also topped the previous November record with 1,380 vehicles sold, up 2.9% compared to last year.
Another Record Month for Lexus Luxury Vehicles
Lexus reported its second consecutive monthly record with 1,875 luxury vehicles sold in November, up 3.4% compared to last year.
