Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain Toyota and Lexus vehicles

Last updated: July 25, 2024 – includes remedy in revised statement.

TORONTO, Ontario – May 30, 2024 – Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain 2022-2023 Toyota Tundra (gas) and 2022 Lexus LX600 vehicles. Approximately 9,665 Toyota and 314 Lexus vehicles are involved in this recall in Canada.

There is a possibility that certain machining debris may not have been cleared from the engine when it was produced. In the involved vehicles with higher engine load operations, this can lead to potential engine knocking, engine rough running, engine no start and/or a loss of motive power. A loss of motive power while driving at higher speeds can increase the risk of a crash.

For all involved vehicles, Toyota and Lexus dealers will replace the engine with a new one at no cost to customers.

Customers will be notified about this issue through the mail by late July 2024.

Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is current as of today’s filing date and is subject to change thereafter. For the most up-to-date Safety Recall Information on Toyota and Lexus vehicles, customers should check their vehicle’s status by visiting Toyota.ca/recall or Lexus.ca/recall and entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

For any additional questions, customer support is also available by calling Toyota Customer Interaction Centre at 1-888-TOYOTA-8 (1-888-869-6828) or Lexus Guest Service at 1-800-26-LEXUS (1-800-265-3987).
