WOODSTOCK, January 23, 2026 – Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) has started producing the all-new 6th generation RAV4 for the North American market.
“Being selected to build the all-new 6th generation RAV4 reflects the trust that Toyota Motor Corporation has in our world-class team members, our commitment to quality, and our customer focus,” TMMC President Tim Hollander told employees at a recent event celebrating the first vehicle off the line. “TMMC has been producing high-tech electrified vehicles – including the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, the Lexus NX Hybrid and the Lexus RX Hybrid - for almost a decade. Toyota has invested over $1.1 billion in this all-new RAV4, bringing our total investment in Canada to more than $12 billion. This is a significant demonstration of Toyota’s confidence in our people, our plants, and our manufacturing ecosystem. It also reflects our long-term commitment to Canada and the communities where we operate.”
Over 4 million RAV4 have been produced by TMMC since it assembled its first RAV4 in 2009. TMMC has manufactured vehicles in Canada for almost 40 years and currently employs more than 8,500 team members at its facilities in Cambridge and Woodstock, Ontario.
TMMC remains the number one automaker in the country, assembling more than 535,000 vehicles in 2025 and will assemble its 12 millionth vehicle this year.
TMMC has also been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 22 straight years and is now the most awarded auto manufacturing plant in the world.
